Joshua Chevin , Design Engineer & Chief Remote Pilot at Nova Systems & Committee at NextGenNetwork

I am a design and production engineer with Nova Systems working primarily on aircraft modifications for small and large commercial aircraft. I am also an aircraft weight and balance engineer working with several large airlines in Australia. In addition, I am the Chief Remote Pilot for Nova Systems UAV operations and oversee UAV operations around Australia. I studied at Monash University and graduated with a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and Bachelor of Science (Material Science). My university life was heavily involved in Monash Uncrewed Aerial Systems (Student Team) where I cut my teeth on a mixture of structural, material and avionics engineering.

Amanda Duval, Early Careers Manager at Thales Group

Working for nearly 15 years in the Human Resource industry Amanda is currently the Early Careers Manager at Thales overseeing the Early Talent strategy & programs. Previous to Thales Amanda worked as the Talent Acquisition Manager at Transdev for 5 years. During this time Amanda was named as a HRD Rising Star for her implementation of the early talent strategy. During her career Amanda has worked across both volume and non-volume recruitment in the public transport, energy, IT and insurance industries. Amanda is passionate about seeing young talent succeed and increasing the diversity of under represented groups in the workplace.

Lauren Symons, Talent Acquisition Lead at Virgin Australia

Lauren Symons is the Talent Acquisition Leader at Virgin Australia, the second largest airline in Australia and a leader in the aviation industry. Within her role, she recruits corporate roles, as well as overseeing the national recruitment team that recruits over 2000 positions annually. She is passionate about process improvement, ensuring Virgin Australia is hiring a diverse range of individuals across all parts of the business. She has over 9 years’ recruitment experience and has worked in various industries, including aviation, travel & tourism, agency, mining and engineering. Lauren is passionate about attracting, engaging, and retaining the best talent for the airline, and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. She is also focused on recruiting to Virgin Australia’s four core values.
